ENCOR 4.0 Network Assurance (10%)¶
Network Assurance is the "is it working, and how do I prove it" domain. It is mostly configure and verify: syslog and SNMP, Flexible NetFlow, SPAN/RSPAN/ERSPAN, IP SLA, and NETCONF/RESTCONF all appear as configuration exhibits, show output and simulation tasks. Catalyst Center is the one describe objective, and objective 4.1 asks you to diagnose with the classic tools. At 10% of the exam it is a small domain, but the commands are short and the marks are easy if you have typed them.
| Objective | Verb | Page |
|---|---|---|
| 4.1 Diagnose network problems using debugs, conditional debugs, traceroute, ping, SNMP and syslog | Diagnose | Diagnostic Tools |
| 4.2 Flexible NetFlow | Configure and verify | Flexible NetFlow |
| 4.3 SPAN/RSPAN/ERSPAN | Configure | SPAN, RSPAN and ERSPAN |
| 4.4 IP SLA | Configure and verify | IP SLA |
| 4.5 Catalyst Center workflows for configuration, monitoring and management | Describe | Catalyst Center Workflows |
| 4.6 NETCONF and RESTCONF | Configure and verify | NETCONF and RESTCONF |
Time budget: week 7 of the study plan for 4.1 to 4.4 (a light week, so do the labs rather than extra reading). Week 8 starts with 4.5 and 4.6 on the first three days, then moves on to 5.1 in the Security domain. The RESTCONF lab on the 4.6 page is the week 8 lab.
