ENSLD 3.0 WAN for Enterprise Networks (20%)

WAN is a choose and justify domain. Questions give you a business case, such as site count, transport mix, security rules and failure tolerance, and ask which technology or topology fits and why the others do not. You will not configure anything on this exam, but you do need to know what each option gives you and what it costs.

Objective Verb Page
3.1 WAN connectivity: Layer 2 VPN, MPLS L3VPN, Metro Ethernet, DWDM, 4G/5G, SD-WAN CE Choose WAN Connectivity Options
3.2 Site-to-site VPN: DMVPN, L2VPN, L3VPN, IPsec, GRE, GET VPN Compare Site-to-Site VPN Design
3.3 WAN HA: single-homed, multihomed, backup, failover Design High Availability for the WAN
3.4 Cisco SD-WAN architecture: planes, onboarding, security Describe SD-WAN Architecture
3.5 Cisco SD-WAN design: control plane, overlay, LAN, HA, scale, security, QoS, multicast Design SD-WAN Design Considerations

Time budget: about 10 to 12 hours. See the study plan.

Each page replaces the lab with a Design exercise: a short scenario with requirements and constraints, then a collapsible model answer that names the rejected alternatives. Write your own answer first, then compare.

Mechanics are taught elsewhere in the course. Read them if a term is unfamiliar:

When you finish, take the WAN practice questions. Aim for 80% or better before moving on.
