Privacy Policy¶
Last updated October 28, 2026.
cisconets.com (the CiscoNets hub and the CCNP Fast Track course) collects as little as it can. This page says what that is.
If you just read the site¶
There are no advertising trackers and no tracking cookies. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or build a profile of you. The web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time and browser) for security and troubleshooting.
If you create a free account¶
- What's stored: your email address, your password in hashed form (never the password itself), when you signed up and last logged in, and whether you asked for study-tip emails.
- Course progress: while you're signed in, the site records which course pages you open and when, and how long you study each day. Study time is counted with a small signal sent about once a minute while a course page is open, visible and in use. It also records which pages you've finished (read to the end, or ticked "Mark as done") and how far down a page you got, so the course can show your status per module and take you back to where you left off. This shows your progress on your account page and in the course, and lets the site owner see how members use the course so it can be improved. It isn't shared with anyone, and it's deleted with your account.
- Progress without an account: if you're not signed in, the pages you've opened and finished are kept only in your own browser (local storage), never sent to the site. If you later sign in on that browser, they're copied to your account.
- The one cookie: signing in sets a login cookie (
cn_session) so the site knows you're a member. It's strictly necessary for the account, holds no personal details, and expires after 30 days or when you log out. - Why: to unlock the members-only material, to show your progress and, only if you tick the box, to send study tips and course news.
- Account emails: if you use "forgot password", we email you a one-time reset link. The site owner also gets a short email when a new account is created (your address and signup time), to keep track of signups.
- Demo logins: a new account also gets 7-day read-only logins to the NetManager, NetDiag, PCAP Analyzer and OpsDash demos (demo.netmanager.ai, netdiag.netmanager.ai, pcap.netmanager.ai and ops-demo.netmanager.ai, run by NetManager Systems like this site). Your email address is sent to each demo and used as the username there, and the logins are sent in your welcome email. They stop working after 7 days.
- Your controls: the account page lets you turn study-tip emails on or off, download everything stored about you, and delete your account. Deleting removes the account immediately.
If you get study-tip emails¶
- Consent: nothing is sent until you click the link in the confirmation email. You can unsubscribe with one click from any email.
- Who holds it: the mailing list is kept by the email service provider that sends the newsletter. It's never sold, rented or shared with anyone else.
If you buy a plan¶
Payments go through Stripe, which handles the card payment, tax and receipts. This site never sees your card number. Stripe shares your email address, what you bought and the subscription's status (active, cancelled, or the date it ends), so your access can be switched on and off. This site stores just that, along with the link to your billing page. The site owner gets a short email for each new subscription. See also the terms and refunds.
Your rights¶
Wherever you live, you can ask to see the data held about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. If you're in the EU, UK or California, those are also your legal rights under GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA. Use the account page, or reply to any newsletter email.
Changes¶
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change, and email subscribers will be told.
