Sim 06: iBGP with a Route Reflector and Next-Hop-Self¶

Scenario¶
AS 65010 has three routers. R1 is the route reflector in the core and originates the company prefix 192.0.2.0/24. R2 peers with ISP R4 (AS 65100), which advertises 203.0.113.0/24. R3 peers with partner R5 (AS 65200), which advertises 198.51.100.0/24. Instead of a full iBGP mesh, R2 and R3 are route-reflector clients of R1. All iBGP sessions run between Loopback0 addresses, which OSPF area 0 carries, and are protected with TCP MD5 authentication (neighbor password). The eBGP links are not in OSPF, so R2 and R3 set next-hop-self toward R1.
