ENCOR 2.0 Virtualization (10%)

Virtualization mixes two describe objectives (device virtualization, LISP and VXLAN) with one configure and verify objective (VRF, GRE and IPsec). Expect conceptual multiple-choice and drag-and-drop items on hypervisors, LISP roles and VXLAN headers, and expect to type or troubleshoot a VRF-aware GRE over IPsec tunnel. Objective 2.2 is where most of the points are, so it gets most of the lab time.

Objective Verb Page
2.1 Device virtualization: hypervisor type 1 and 2, virtual machine, virtual switching Describe Device Virtualization
2.2.a VRF Configure and verify VRF and VRF-Lite
2.2.b GRE and IPsec tunneling: crypto maps vs tunnel protection, IKEv1 vs IKEv2, transport vs tunnel mode, MTU and MSS, recursive routing Configure and verify GRE and IPsec Tunneling
2.3 Network virtualization concepts: LISP, VXLAN Describe LISP and VXLAN

Time budget: week 2 of the study plan, after QoS. Suggested split: half a day on 2.1, two days on 2.2 (VRF first, then GRE over IPsec, ending with the lab), one day on 2.3. The week's deliverable is the GRE over IPsec lab with the tunnel in VRF CUSTOMER-A, at the end of the GRE and IPsec page.
