What changed in ENCOR v1.2

If you studied for the older ENCOR, these are the differences that matter:

  • Wireless is gone. v1.1 covered wireless design, roaming, RF, WLC/AP join and wireless security. v1.2 has none of it. Skip it entirely.
  • Domain 6 is renamed "Automation and Artificial Intelligence" and stays at 15%.
  • Renamed products: Cisco DNA Center is now Catalyst Center; vManage is SD-WAN Manager, vSmart is SD-WAN Controller, vBond is SD-WAN Validator. Expect the new names on the exam.
  • Multicast is explicit: RPF check, PIM SM, IGMPv2/v3, SSM, bidir and MSDP (3.3.d).
  • PTP sits alongside NTP (3.3.a).

Question formats

Multiple choice (single and multiple answer), drag-and-drop, and simulation or simlet items. There is no going back to a previous question once answered, so do not plan a "review at the end" pass.

Recertification note

A lapsed CCNP is earned again the same way as a first-time candidate: pass ENCOR plus one concentration. Once certified, the three-year recertification clock starts again, and it can be renewed later with exams or Continuing Education credits.
