ENSLD 2.0 Advanced Enterprise Campus Networks (25%)

This domain is about campus design choices: how to keep the campus available, how big Layer 2 may grow, how several campuses route together, and how to design an SD-Access fabric. ENSLD questions give a business requirement and ask for the design that fits best, so study each topic as a set of trade-offs. Protocol mechanics are covered in the ENCOR and ENARSI modules and linked from each page.

Objective Verb Page
2.1 Campus high availability: FHRP, platform abstraction, graceful restart, BFD Design Campus High Availability
2.2 Campus Layer 2 infrastructure: STP scalability, fast convergence, loop-free technologies, PoE and WoL, Layer 2 security Design Campus Layer 2
2.3 Multicampus Layer 3: convergence, load sharing, summarisation, filtering, VRFs, topologies, redistribution Design Multicampus Layer 3
2.4 SD-Access architecture: underlay, overlay, control and data plane, automation, wireless, security Describe SD-Access Architecture
2.5 SD-Access fabric design for wired and wireless access Design SD-Access Fabric Design

Time budget: See the study plan (study plan). Plan about two hours per page: 45 minutes reading, 30 minutes on the design exercise (write your own answer before opening the model answer), and the rest on the quick checks.

Related material: the ENCOR diagram library has campus design and SD-Access pictures worth redrawing from memory, and the ENCOR simulations include routing and Layer 2 labs that reinforce 2.2 and 2.3.

Prerequisites: ENCOR Design and High Availability, ENCOR SD-Access and ENARSI route control.

When you finish, take the Campus practice questions. Aim for 80% or better before moving on.
